IHME Artist 2010 Susan Philipsz´ work Day is Done will be opened during fall 2013 in Governors Island, New York. It is the first permanent art commission for the former military site whose public spaces are being revamped. In 2010 Philipsz made the main work for the IHME Contemporary Art Festival, a new sound installation When Day Closes at Helsinki Central Railway Station. In it she sang unaccompanied Sibelius´ Song of My Heart, which was composed as a setting for Aleksis Kivi´s poem of the same name.
Susan Philipsz IHME Project 2010 will also be included in a publication which is carried out in collaboration with London-based ArtAngel among others and published before the end of the year.
IHME is back online from sunny holidays along with the thunder storms! We will launch a brand new website in September. The site is currently under construction in collaboration with Kokoro&Moi and Byroo.
We will also introduce the artist to conceive the IHME Project 2014, publications and new collaborative projects in September - October. Join our mailing list here of like us on Facebook and you'll be the first to know.
Along with the first autumn breeze IHME wishes new spirit to everyone!
